The scam system xd
So basically, elden ring torturing you for hours with a boss before you beat it is REALLY good for your dopamine
You heard him lads, its crusade time to kill miquellester
I've just realized this exact concept applies to making youtube videos/content creation. You only get the hit if the numbers are high
"Millionaire playboys"
What about Billionaire playboys and philanthropist?
Is this how nicotine works too?
What does this mean for ADHDers who are on stimulants? What’s the end game for them?
Classic Law of Diminishing Returns
Chasing dopamine ❌
Running away from your problems ✔️
I am still a cannabis addict, but I have been developing myself in the past year. Life is different
how to solve this then?
I was with you all the way until you started relating it to the gamers… Bored after 5 hours most games do not get good until after 15 hours.. in my opinion games are not like drugs where it gets to the point where you can't use them effectively….. Just started a new playthrough with a friend on a game that I've been playing for more than 10 years. There might be some gamers that are fueled by the aspect you're talking about but most just like to play games/puzzles
Described the problem without offering fix just like politicians
Real question is: why are we like this
Humans are both the addict and the dealer
So the big question is, is dopamine mainly bad and should we try to actively avoid releasing it?
Dudes got his runescape
account up while he's recording this
Me watching this trying to remind myself to not chase that dopamine today
In the pursuit of pleasure, we are devoid of joy.
Knowing this means you have a huge potential hack, if you're willing to work
well I can either chase dopamine or sit in a massive cortisol dump whilst have a panic attack over nothing.. 😂
Damn you, Tom clancys, the division i haven't played an actual fun game since
This demonizing of dopamine needs to stop,
If u feed your body thinking it’s feeding your soul that’s when depression and negative thoughts about life start
u also need oxytocin norenephrine serotonin and GABA to feel good not only dopamine… but dopamine drugs feels euphoric it feels like being hugged warm & cozy💚♥️💙
In this modern time we can look at it on an inverted scale. As you receive happiness in excess you lose happiness per unit. However, if you are able to balance your happiness intake per day. The amount, even though decreased, is experienced at greater happiness levels(per unit) than if you take excessive happiness. Everything in moderation People.
Does racing Motorsports fit in the adrenaline category? Drifting/ street racing??
Dirt bikes work
Temporarily but unsustainable.. (yes. That sums it up.)
I used to ride motocross. Full adrenaline at times from that, and I always felt a good afterglow. Maybe the exertion was a factor. Clearing a new jump is very frightening, exciting, and is fulfilling in its own way. Camaraderie with other riders is cool too.
What about ADHD prescribed meds ?
Gacha games have been my big weakness lately. There's a huge dopamine hit when I win a character or if I roll good gear with nice stats for a character. These gacha games definitely feel like a drug.
Chasing dopamine is fun
Skateboarding isn't a crime. Although you probably have a higher chance of being arrested if you are holding a skateboard ngl.
Are there not healthy ways to take advantage of our dopaminergic system??
Is this a “baby and the bathwater” situation??
I don’t know enough about it. Would love any feedback.
This is true nothing is too fun after the third hour of it
My Gen Z junior playing smart phone everyday during work hour need to hear this
A helpful thing i do for games, is i imagine its me going to the park or the playground. Play nice, play fair, whatever happens happens, and just enjoy the experience. Not every night is mlg, but most nights are good through that acceptance of the variability
