“World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for the world to come together and begin redressing the historic neglect of mental health” – Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

#WorldMentalHealth Day was first observed on October 10th, 1992, with the objective of raising awareness for mental health issues around the world.

It began as an annual event put on by the World Federation for Mental Health, and is celebrated every year on October 10th. The need to eliminate the stigma and advance #awareness and treatment of #mentalillness has never been greater.
