For the best in Behavioral Healthcare, Think Carrier.

With over 200 types of mental illness and addictions, it’s time to think differently about behavioral healthcare…about better ways to help the tens of thousands suffering here in New Jersey.

At Carrier Clinic we’re doing more than thinking, we’re doing.

Applying new scientific advances in treating mental illness and addiction. Within new modern holistic facilities, we’ve replaced routine care programs with innovative, alternative treatments. We’re first in the nation to apply a compassionate care index that monitors and improves patient’s care.

All resulting in better patient outcomes.Today or in the future you may need to think about behavioral healthcare. About mental illness and addiction and about where to go for the best treatments for you or your loved one.

At that time, Think Carrier.

  1. This place is a dump, can't imagine where they filmed this video because it looks nothing like this! The food is vile, the nurses sit behind glass and ignore you like you're at the DMV. I had to ask for my medication daily for blood pressure and diabetes and stand there forever as they struggled to figure it out EVERY TIME! When I asked for my pain meds for a fused spine, they always treated me like a crackhead who was drug seeking…I was not there for drug addiction or detox. Any request of the staff, even simply for a toothbrush, cause complete chaos at the "nurses station." There was no therapy, I saw a shrink twice at my request – which is writing your name on a list on the wall and then wait for him to pass through the ward, and even then it was just a 5-10 minute conversation where he barely looked at me and basically read questions from a script. You could not see a dr. or any medical professional on the weekend whatsoever. They seem to push electric shock on everyone as the general treatment no matter what you are there for. Also it was co-ed which was very uncomfortable and scary to me, literally male and female rooms right next to eachother, and male nurse techs just opened my room door at any time, meanwhile there wasn't even a door on the bathroom! I also use the term "nurse techs" very loosely, they were glorified babysitters with power trips and attitude problems. Other patients quickly warned me who not to cross as they will make your stay harder, they treated you like a prisoner rather than a patient. I had checked myself in with the understanding that I could leave at my own will after 48 hours, but when I requested that, I was threatened with being committed to the state. They are are kind and caring at admission, put on a good show, then when you are behind closed doors and your family has left, it's a completely different environment. It's an obvious money making machine and they want to keep you there as long as possible. When I left, I exited through a nice and pretty, professional looking front entrance meant for the public to see, again a total facade that resembled nothing inside.
