  1. I used to visit my brother in the psych ward in NJ..in the 80s I used to bring him cigs food..books..one of his roommates had a guitar and could play really good..he used to come home feeling a lot better…he went to the psych ward in 2018 ..I had to empty my pockets into a lock box..no cigs allowed..bought him a couple bags of candy..I had to give the candy to the guards at the front desk..(he got 1 bag) was buzzed in…walked in…a woman laying was curled up on the floor screaming..all the staff not even looking twice..wasn't allowed to my brother's room…I had to sit in the TV room while they went and got him then she sat watching us like a guard till I left..it was like a prison..came home even worse..DO NOT GO TO a psych; ward for help. There's no help in this country anymore..if you don't have a good family to help you you live on the streets .

  2. if you have frequent hospitalizations, keep a go back someone can bring to you. you never know. I have complex physical problems…so I actually keep a bag with a med kit because I can't depend on a hospital for medical care (meds from home wouldn't be allowed in a psych ward though). There is an OTC med that helps with my nausea, I couldn't get it in the hospital and couldn't eat for 3 days. They believe they are gods and know what works and doesn't and wouldn't listen to me. I had a close call a month ago where I was severely injured, really should have been in a hospital, but I can care for myself better at home.

  3. At one point, i listed all my medical encounters (all for physical health). The alleged gods of medicine were WRONG 80% of the time. Even with simple things like thyroid with positive blood work. One person I know has been in about a half dozen facilities, they just spend a few minutes give a fake diagnosis and prescribe standard anti psychotics whether you need them or not. I know 2 people that have been victims of criminal acts by staff. A man with severe disabilities that require part time home help. He was distressed because of abuse by caretakers. the gods of medicine just sent him back home to the abuse without helping (it was mandatory to report to adult protective services). he wasn't set up with any type of outpatient assistance.

  4. the phsyc ward i was in had a hard mattress, sheets, blankets, and 1 singular pillow
    terrible food and yoga,
no phone and nothing but journaling, we couldn’t put sweatshirts on where the cameras were and we were also not allowed to wear our own clothes (so we had uniforms provided by the hospital)
