  1. This video was so helpful! As I prep to start my practicum in the fall as a BHC intern, its helpful to get a glimpse of what I can expect! Thanks so much!

  2. 'Behavorial health,' is a ridiculous concept; outward behavior does not indicate one's health and if other people are uncomfortable with your natural body movements or tone of voice, that is their problem, not yours.

  3. this is fascinating! This would be so helpful both in my own health journey as well as in my future profession. I just started my mental health counseling masters and I want to work in health psych and behavioral medicine and I love the idea of working alongside PCPs and treating it all as health instead of separating mental and physical when they can be so intertwined. I look forward to learning more!

  4. I just learned about BHC i was just wondering what the difference between a BHC vs a counselor? BHC spends less time with their patients but can see more people a counselor sees less clients and spends more time with them. Which one is more beneficial or are they both beneficial?

  5. What a nice video, it seems to capture the reality of the role in an encouraging way, and I appreciated Dr. Bauman's personal reflections towards the end.

  6. I came across your video, I am currently working at at a State Mental Hospital called Atascadero State Hospital in Atascadero CA.. I have worked in the Mental Health field for almost 20 yrs now first as a Psychiatric Technician but promoted to a Sr. Psych Tech.. The facility I work at is a forensic facility.. I am close to retirement I’ll be 55 in Nov. My job besides supervising a team of 6 staff and taking care of 33 patients.. All my Mental Health Career has been taking care of patients that are mentally I’ll and committed a crime, I have often thought how rewarding it would be to work with patients in the early stages of mental health and catch it early to teach coping skills and help others learn what triggers they may have and give them the skills to prevent them from possibly committing a crime or struggling with their mental illness.. Thank you for video.

  7. I am just speaking from my own experience in utah but i consider this entire thing a scam the medication is toxic and does harm barely helps if at all or very long and will create more problems than help and the staff is typically abigger danger to people than the patients i seeked help along time ago for voices and to get help to quit my cannabis addiction and ever since i have only gotten worse from the treatment and now i am worse off than before i started

  8. I see so now we should have sympathy for the abuser's of the mental ill so we have no rights we are not human beings cause we have a mental illness and we should always say please and thank you to bad roe vs Wade has been overwhelmed cause you could have us sterilized just like Hitler did and I for one who has had ideal with the abused due to the monopoly of the department of mental health would prefer to lobotomii cause it would be more human how much money does the department of mental health get from medical and medicine to conserve a mental health patient indefinitely

  9. Well as you all are aware of they are not going to do anything to him I just saw him on TV promoting his latest movie happily giving interviews on a worldwide tour so this is a win wln for all of you and u can all continue to do what all of u do best u can continue to abuse the mentally ill so you can all sleep well tonight and you can all continue to get paid I have decided that the best thing for me is to turn myself in to the police to be taken to prison to get mental health treatment what I know about state prison in California is that they offer the best mental health treatment in the state I do want to sleep and spend time with my family who love me and who I love

  10. Hi. Thanks for the videos. How does BHC differ from being a Psychotherapist?I am aware that they both require a license. I want to understand what separates the two? It is the caseload size, Length of session, or length of care (short term/long term? Also, do you have clients that you may schedule future appointments with or do you refer to the site therapist?

I know that those are a lot of questions and I thank you for your videos and responses🙏🏾.

  11. Hi! I’m currently an undergraduate public health student with an interest in Behavioral Health and I’m thinking about studying that for my PhD. Would that suffice for a job like this or would I need to have a psychology or other hard science degree to go into this work? My university has a PhD in Public Health with a concentration in behavioral health but most of the curriculum is focused around stats and less on bio and anatomy so I’m wondering if that’s necessary for this type of job.
