She lives in Naples, Florida with her family.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  1. I've been to so many mental hospitals so many times it isn't funny. The only thing I got out of my ordeal was shame, embarrassment, and humiliation. Made a few friends, but the friendships ended when they sent me back home, and the friends were also released.

  2. When i was twelve i was falsy imprisoned in a mental hospital. I was the victim of child abuse. I was torchered and molested by the head psychiatrist. If you think that mental hospitals are good the look up the federal fraud probe of Universal Health Services inc. And use your imagination. I can speak with confidence when i say our psychiatric health care is corrupt and twisted.

  3. This woman is now preaching ME-ology. She turned her back on God and Christianity and worships herself. She is a great writer and speaker, but so sadly lost and confused and influencing others to follow her confusion.

  4. I've not thought about mental health much. I have carried on a normal life with low levels of depression and anxiety – not enough to prevent my life. This TEDx was nothing short of brilliant. Perhaps I understand a little better now.

  5. hope is a useless word. you can have hope, but it doesn't give you anything. having hope doesn't increase your chances of a better life. and it doesn't actually improve anything, not even your mental state, not in the long run. if things turn out okay, having or not having hope has nothing to do with it. what's more, when things don't work out the disappointment is even greater if you were hoping the whole time because it keeps you focused on the future instead of the present. the secret to life is staying in the moment, being present. hope is a useless word.

  6. In drug rehab I found out I was normal. It has been 43 yrs. and I have not been back. Haven't been hiding. Do not ask me a question you don't want the truth of. Friends are locked in and love me, acquaintances not so much.

  7. As Shakespere said. This above all else ,to thine own self be true .Be honest with you about you ,accept all the weakenesses and they become our true strengths .Use them in art in story in humor and most of all to help others in times of trial

  9. I feel like Glennon speaks the words from my soul. And I am so glad after this she still chose to grow and learn what it means to be human and how that journey led her to Abby. <3
