It makes zero sense that ANY school would allow students to bring cellphones to class period, full stop. Not only is it a major distraction for everyone, it's also a cheating device. When I was in school, calculators weren't even allowed in Mathematics class. You couldn't just give an answer to a math problem, you had to show your work, show how you got to that conclusion. Kids today are all defiant underachievers.
They shouldn't be there in first place
Can’t they just put the cell phone in their back pack on silent and just not use it during class? Of course that would require the kids to be respectful of school rules. The dopamine thing is real too, it’s addictive. Gotta encourage the kids to get off the devices for awhile.
Cellphones ate the new crack. Almost every time I see a teenager, they are staring at a tiny screen.
Cell phones aren't the problem. It's he weak, minded and weak willed, people who use them.
No it's really because the teachers are getting caught.
Good luck taking their phones away. Its not going to happen
What is going to happen when these students enter the work force and their supervisor tells them to get off of the phone?
Of course let's just ban cell phones and yell hyperbolic statements like they're killing the children without bringing teachers, parents, and children into the conversation. Lawmakers are unnecessary we need schools to develop models for how technology is integrated into classrooms on a case by case basis. And that doctor is dumb who would fund a study looking at the classroom benefits of cell phones, Nokia?
Isn't the solution obvious? Cells blocking technology during schools hours, in case of an emergency, unblock the signal to this devises.
It is they care more about what’s on TikTok then they do about their future. It should only be used as a writing tool for the school only or using as a book in class. There shouldn’t even be access to social media in schools
How many students use cell phones to cheat in school?
Didn’t have cell phones for the most of my school career we had payphones in the school. So I’m not really buying the emergency argument.
