  4. As you stated, not all patients respond favorably to lithium. The valproate made me dizzy and I fell down frequently. I take carbamazepine. If you have bipolar disorder, you and your psychiatrist will need to work as a team to find the correct effective mix.

  5. You screwed saying at the end: I hope you enjoyed this video, its tuff and sad and painful no reason to enjoy the content of it, instead: I hope you got the partial message of a truly misunderstood medical diagnosis

  9. I knew a guy with this… well he told me he was bipolar. We were only fwb for 4 months before I just couldnt take it anymore. He held it together for the most part aside from the constant dumping if his issues on me… then hed start losing it if I didnt answer a text fast enough. I told him if i saw it again id be gone. Then one day he sees I am at my ex's place… 20 years ago my ex who is basically a friend now and he went completely nuts. The texts were paragraphs long and completely insane, vicious and unhinged. It literally scared me they were so crazy and I called the police for advice because I worried this guy would try to cause me trouble.. with work, or family.. or show up at my place even though we lived 4 hours apart. I feel so bad for people with this but if Im being honest anyone who thinks they can be in a relationship with someone like this is lying to themselves and one day your mental health is going to be destroyed. I cant even imagine how much more quickly he would have worn me down if we actually lived in the same city and saw each other regularly. I also noticed there was no reasoning with him.. about anything even when he was in a seemingly normal state. Id try to explain to him why something he did or said was wrong or crazy and hed just make excuse after excuse completely unable to grasp what he was doing was wrong. Is that normal in BPD? Inability to reason properly and not know the difference between wrong and right when it comes to how you deal and treat people? The expression "banging my head against a brickwall" made all the sense in the world to me after dealing with this guy. Only took him 4 months to completely exhaust me.

  10. Thank you for the information. It can be so confusing trying to be there for someone experiencing this illness but being knowledgeable about it can help us to understand and show care for those we care about
