The Integrated Mental Health Services for Complex Kids Program

The Integrated Mental Health Services for Complex Kids program was developed to provide assessment and treatment for children and youth while delivering education and consultation support to Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) care teams.

When originally started in 2007, there was an acknowledgement that the vulnerable children and families served by MCFD required customized mental health services informed by progressive research. This innovative program has increased the capacity of MCFD workers and changed the way in which Kamloops protects and cares for its vulnerable children and youth.
