  1. Your video is a step towards ending the silence around
Major Depressive Disorder . Let's join forces and create a more compassionate mental health community. 💪

  2. Thank you very much for your ATI mental health proctored exam series! Watching these short, to-the-point, informative videos is extremely helpful for us nursing students! Appreciate you extremely!

  3. I’ve been diagnosed with severe MDD, for me it’s been 8 years of trying to overcome it. It feels like this diagnosis is often misinterpreted as just having depression once. Or is it that? Maybe it’s different because I also have OCD

  4. I have MDD, it impacted my work negatively, I thought I just had discipline and energy management issues and needed to try harder…

Yeah that didn’t work, the harder I tried the worse it got. I became very frustrated with myself and irritable. It was a long frustrating slide to the bottom and by the time I got there and realized I needed to return to treatment I was let go. I had no energy for anything, not even simple tasks and kept making mistakes over and over again.

This compounded the negative spiral because I know that I’m more than capable for that position and then some but my brain just isn’t doing its thing. And it broke my heart that I wasn’t able to deliver what I absolutely know I have to give to such an amazing team.

A day late and a dollar short.

But lessons learned, back to treatment and picking myself back inch by inch. I won’t be coming off my meds anymore. It’s always a slow decent into depression and I don’t even realize it until it’s too late because of how gradual the slide is… it’s easy to think I just need to drink more water or get more sleep and then maybe that helps a bit and I move on unaware that I’m sliding into the abyss.

  5. I’ve been diagnosed with MDD I didn’t even know that excited I though I was “ exaggerating, or I was crazy “ ( according to others ) now I learned about seasonal depression I feel like that when it’s not sunny ( I though I was crazy too) and pre menstrual depression ugh 😑 I have all kind of depressions 😣

  6. Don't know what to do anymore, I'm in loads of pain daily. Cant concentrate for long, sleeping a lot everything seems like a major effort. Antidepressants not effective at all.

  7. I'm on medication for MDD and PTSD. It's a lifelong process to get diagnosed and finally treated. Took many years. Ended up in a psych ward and put on medication.

  8. I think the two happiest groups are single women and married men. I don’t think depression is greater than women. It’s just that men display it differently.

  9. I’m 61 years old and don’t have any friends or family. Don’t have anyone to talk to. Everything is pointless. I feel empty inside and it’s killing me.
Spend the whole f* day wishing I was never born. Loneliness is like living in a world of constant pain , suffering and torture.
Wish I had someone to talk to.

  10. I have this. Sadly I have no real family support. Even my wife tells me to "tough it out and don't complain." I've lost interest in everything, always weak, tired and with chronic pain.
