How to be a Mental Healthcare Advocate

Patrick J. Kennedy, founder of the Kennedy Forum, partners with PsychArmor to help you become an advocate for better mental health coverage and care. Mental health care is often fragmented, confusing, and expensive, which can be frustrating. This course provides information on your Veteran’s rights, tips for finding a case manager, and developing a transition of care advocacy plan. Additional resources and contact information is provided in this course to help you ensure your Veteran is getting the care he or she deserves.

This course is sponsored by USAA.

About PsychArmor:
PsychArmor is a nonprofit that offers FREE online training courses and resources for Americans so they can effectively engage with and support military service members, Veterans, and their families.

Because fewer than 7% of Americans serve or have served in uniform, most civilians are unfamiliar with military culture. As a result, members of the military and Veteran community often feel misunderstood and reluctant to seek support. Our mission is to bridge that civilian-military gap by educating a nation.
