  1. We did this study on CBT ( entry into child Psychology).

Can I just mention that CBT needs to be pushed to the front line of mental health therapies .

Why ? In my opinion , changing thoughts can be achieved by talk not by placing a bandage over it ( blockers , stimulants ) ….

  2. Thoughts CANNOT be controlled when you're aware ppl can hear them. You lose control of them and there are also other elements at play to harm your thought patterns. But yes you can learn to think I'm another direction. But NO one is not always in charge of their thoughts

  3. This is one of many theories, not right but not false either, depends on the patient.
Until today we don't know, what is first the thought or the feeling
And a changed/ill biochemie in your brain/body, is changeble easy.

  4. This is why I prefer the approach of DBT over CBT because a HUGE part of DBT is validation of thoughts and emotions AND giving you ways to control yourself when your emotions get high and thoughts get difficult. "You can't control your thoughts, you can only control your reaction to them" was something I was taught. If you have self depreciating thoughts, mock them, or pretend it someone saying it to your best friend and spite those thoughts like you would some a-hole messing with your friend.

  5. But the way, CBT doesn’t really work if you are neuro-divergent, and this guy is a family doctor NOT a psychologist or psychiatrist. Not all doctors are the same, he’s a generalists so take some of what he says with a grain of salt.

  6. So that's not right. Firstly, and this is a little advanced, but emotions are primal thoughts. In that way, they are related. Thoughts do affect feelings; however, you can't control your thoughts. You can control your focus. So, the thoughts you choose to focus on lead to better thinking if you focus on the good, and that can lead, hopefully, to feeling better In not sure why this person is confused..

  7. I can influence my mind with positive and realistic thoughts quite easily. I' ve learn to have a healthy self dialog. However, when anxiety arises that won't work to make it go away. What it does, and pretty well is not to make it worse.
With low intensity feelings sometimes it is enough though.
